For Immediate release

Local author's first novel due out in August

Oklahoma City, Oklahoma - July 20th, 2012 - Oklahoma City based writer Chris Covert says his first novel, "Newtonville", will be released in e-book format in August.

The novel will be released and available on Smashwords.com.

"This is a very exciting event for any author, to have a manuscript presented to the public." he said. "This work is a long time coming."

"Newtonville" is set in the turbulent late 1960s, and the story centers around young Honey Rimeola and her family, and her friends. Much of the story is set in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma but much of it is set in fictional Finsick County in southeastern Oklahoma.

Although the scheduled release of the work is more than 10 days away, the story was written 20 years ago.

"The narrative is as fresh as it would have been had it been written this year. For the reader, this story will age well," said Chris.

"Smashwords.com provides a platform for independant writers such as myself to put their work up for sale," said Chris. "When I found Smashwords, the decision to release "Newtonville" was easy."

Chris Covert was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1954 and was raised in Oklahoma City. He was graduated from University of Central Oklahoma, then Central State University in 1986 with a degree in journalism. He has written sports and business news for several Oklahoma publications since 1979.
